

Kevin Arthur Jr (b. 2004) is an emerging composer from Philadelphia. Heavily influenced by his musical and creative parents and family, Kevin grew up immersed in a diverse artistic environment that deeply shaped his musical insight and commitment to expression and creativity.
His early musical development was shaped by a wide range of ensemble experiences that exposed him to jazz, gospel, and classical genres, allowing him to explore the nuances of different styles and grow his collaborative instincts as an artist. His growth was further supported by his time as a member of the Philadelphia All-City Fellowship, where he studied with composer Dr. Michael Albaugh and English Hornist Elizabeth Masoudnia, and worked alongside other talented students from across the city. Additionally, his education at The Philadelphia High School for Creative and Performing Arts, along with his involvement at the Clef Club of Jazz, played a critical role in refining his technical abilities, strengthening his understanding of music theory and structure, and encouraging the development of a distinct artistic voice.
Kevin’s musical style is characterized by a blend of contemporary and classical influences, marked by strong infusions of jazz and a romantic essence. His compositions demonstrate clear versatility and adaptability, reflecting his passion for the creative freedom and collaborative spirit fostered in music and other artforms.
Currently, Kevin is pursuing a Bachelor of Music degree in Music Composition at The Juilliard School. With a dedication to contribute meaningfully to the present music landscape, Kevin aims to craft innovative compositions and performances that resonate with both traditional and modern audiences alike. As he continues to evolve as an artist, Kevin remains steadfast in his commitment to exploring new musical horizons and sharing his distinctive voice with the world.
